Second Day of Scramble on the Bayou Cancelled Due to Rain

NEW ORLEANS - The second day of the Scramble on the Bayou was to feature one round each of doubles and singles. Neither wound up happening as the final day of the tournament got washed out by rain.

While the doubles session was going, a heavy shower passed through the University Tennis Center. The rain then came back before the event was tentatively scheduled to resume.

QUOTES FROM COACH KANGA
We competed really well the first day. They were excited and ready to play today. It was unfortunate what happened with the weather.

Unfortunately, we could never get off the ground today because of the rain, but I think the potential is unlimited. I think this team has made a commitment and we're looking forward to next weekend when the men's team goes to Hattiesburg.

On the women's side I thought we competed well also. I was pleased with all the players and I thought they all handled themselves well. I think they'll continue to get better as the season progresses.
