CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – The New Orleans women's basketball team is looking to set a new program record for Southland Conference wins as the Privateers take on A&M-Corpus Christi at 7 PM CT on Wednesday evening at the Dugan Wellness Center.
Due to a scheduling conflict, there will be no Privateer audio tonight. Fans can still
follow along in real-time with the Islanders broadcast here along with
live updates throughout the night at @PrivateersWBB on twitter.
Live stats for the contest can also be found here.
With their 85-59 road victory against McNeese this past Saturday, the Privateers collected their 11th conference victory for just the second time since joining the Southland, matching its program record set during the 2017-18 season.
A win tonight would not only set a new Southland record for the squad, it would also be their first win in Corpus Christi in program history.
New Orleans currently finds itself locked into the No. 5 spot in the conference with a Southland mark of 11-5. The Privateers have a two-game edge on the No. 6 program (UIW) and is in no danger of falling to the No. 7 or 8 positions (Southeastern and Central Arkansas) that are four games back with four games remaining in the regular season.
A&M-Corpus Christi is within reach in the standings as the Islanders are currently ranked No. 3 with a conference record of 13-3. The team is just a half-game back of first place Sam Houston State due to the Bearcats having played in one more conference game than the Islanders.
Both New Orleans and A&M-Corpus Christi enter tonight riding on three-game winning-streaks.
