NEW ORLEANS – The New Orleans Privateers have signed infielder, Andrew Brautman for the 2021 season. Brautman will come to the Lakefront upon transferring from Neosho CC.
THE SCOOP
A 6'1" infielder, the Kansas native in Brautman piled up the hits in bunches at Neosho over two seasons. His freshman year in 2019 saw him hit a stout .342 with seven homers, 39 RBI, and 54 runs.
The second verse was on track to be even more prodigious until the season was shut down to the COVID-19 pandemic. Brautman hit an eye-popping .469 in 64 at-bats over 17 games. That included a 12-game active hitting streak. During that span, Brautman had two or more hits in a game nine times. He also had a .539 on-base percentage and a .703 slugging percentage in the abbreviated 2020 campaign.
Brautman had four doubles, a triple, three home runs and 15 RBI. He also scored 24 runs and was a perfect 4-for-4 in stolen base attempts.
At Arkansas City High School, Brautman was a three-year starter. He also earned All-League and All-State honors and was on a state championship team.

FROM BRAUTMAN
"Talking to some players and coaches and what I learned is that New Orleans is a great place to develop as a player and as a person. The atmosphere and relationships I will make is second to none and it is very exciting to get a chance to be a part of the great culture the Privateers have built."
