NEW ORLEANS – The New Orleans Track & Field program added a talented transfer in Gerald Coleman from Southeastern, made official by director of track & field
Brian Johnson on Monday.
"I am excited to add Gerald to the New Orleans Track & Field community," Johnson said. "This is a great addition to our program as we continue to strive to put the pieces in place to fight for a championship."
Coleman, a New Orleans native, will be returning to his hometown to finish up his collegiate career.
He is coming off a 2019 outdoor campaign in which he qualified for the NCAA Division I East Regional in the 400 hurdles after he recorded the fastest time in the event in the conference during the season at 51.94. Coleman went on to finish fourth overall in the 400H at the outdoor championships.
Top performances also include winning the gold medal at the DMR at the 2020 Southland Indoor Championships, a third-place finish in the 4x400 at the 2019 Southland Outdoor Championships, a fourth-place finish in the DMR at the 2019 Indoor Championships and a third-place showing at the 2018 Southland Outdoor Championships.
Coleman enters New Orleans with personal bests of 50.40 in the 400, 1:24.10 in the 600, 16.40 in the 110H and 51.94 in the 400H.
