NEW ORLEANS – The New Orleans Track & Field program showed that the team is hitting its stride at the perfect point of the season as the Privateers set three new school records and posted numerous personal bests at Rice's J. Fred Duckett Twilight on Saturday. The meet served as the last real tune-up before the upcoming Southland Conference Outdoor Championships (May 14-16).

NOTABLES

Alec Snell broke his own school record by more than four seconds in the men's 1500m as he blazed the track in 3:48.34. The performance earned him a second-place finish in the event and moved him into second overall in the Southland Conference.

Ariana Jimenez ran to a fifth-place finish in the women's 3000m steeplechase as she clocked a time of 11:09.93, a performance that set the new UNO school record by 11 seconds. The showing ranks her third in the Southland.

Kolyn Saltzman also posted a fifth-place finish in the 3000m steeple as he notched a time of 9:19.06. It was the third school record of the day for the Privateers as he beat the old mark by a second. He is now sixth overall in the conference.

Arina Kleshchukova added another checkmark for herself in the New Orleans record book as she ran the fifth-fastest women's 1500m in school history. She took fifth overall at 4:33.99, a mark that also slots fifth in the Southland.

Ismael Kone continued his dominance on the track with two event victories in both the men's 100m and 200m dashes. The standout sprinter just missed out on breaking his own school record as he ran a 20.85 in the 200. The time is the second-best ever posted in the event in UNO history and gave Kone his first win of the day. He followed it up with another victory, this time in the 100 with a 10.41 performance.
- For the second consecutive meet,
Vojislav Gvero claimed second overall in the men's hammer throw, this time with a best heave of 61.05m.

Elliott Cummings placed third in the men's 100 with a 10.58 showing.

Allie Louis posted a new personal best of 2:17.56 to take seventh overall in the women's 800m.

Shanell Atkins finished eighth in the women's hammer with a best toss of 52.51m. The mark is a new personal best for Atkins in the event while competing in a UNO uniform.

Torry Holmes put up a new New Orleans personal best of 14.78 to take tenth in the men's 110m hurdles.
