NEW ORLEANS – The New Orleans Privateers baseball team will head to Norman for the first time in nine years when they start a three-game series against the Oklahoma Sooners. First pitch for the series opener is set for Friday at 6:30 p.m.

SERIES HISTORY
Oklahoma leads the all-time series 10-3 and is 3-0 at home. Nine of the 13 meetings happened during Ron Maestri's first tenure (1972-85).
LAST TIME OUT
The Privateers are coming off a tough midweek loss against the South Alabama Jaguars by a 6-1 score. The game was close with New Orleans leading 1-0 until the Jaguars tied it with a solo home run in the fifth. South Alabama broke the tie in the seventh and added four more in the eighth inning.
NOTES
-Tuesday marked the fourth game Privateer pitchers recorded double-digit strikeouts and the second consecutive. New Orleans pitchers struck out 10 Jaguars on Tuesday.

Tyler LeBlanc leads the conference in ERA and opponent batting average. LeBlanc will be getting his second start of the season after throwing six shutout innings in his first against Youngstown State.

Amani Larry ranks inside the top 10 in the Southland in batting average (.351), RBI (13), and runs (17) heading into the weekend.
-Norman was the site of the last and only triple play turned in Privateer history when New Orleans visited the Sooners in 2013.
-This is the second Big 12 team the Privateers face this season and the fourth in
Blake Dean's tenure. The Privateers went 2-1 against Kansas earlier this season. Under Dean, New Orleans has also played Texas and Oklahoma State.

Pearce Howard has 18 RBI on 16 hits this season. The senior hit his 44
th career double, tying him with Chris Avans (1996-98) for eighth on the program's all-time doubles list.
