NEW ORLEANS – The New Orleans Privateers (21-16) will host the LSU Tigers (27-12) for the third time in Coach
Blake Dean's era when the two teams hook up on Tuesday night at Maestri Field. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
CHASING HISTORY
Pearce Howard enters the week two hits shy of tying and three away from surpassing the program's all-time hits mark set by Kevin McGann. Howard has 266 career hits and he went 12-for-19 at the plate last week.
NOTES
-The Privateers are coming off a week where they hit .364 in four games against Southern Miss and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. New Orleans scored 41 runs and four players who appeared in all four games hit .375 or better.
-This will be the second meeting between the two sides this season. The Tigers won the first meeting 11-3 in Baton Rouge.
-Howard is 13 RBI ahead of his next closest competitor. On the season, Howard has 53 RBI which is good for 11
th in the nation.

Andrew Guidry went 3-for-3 at the plate with three runs and two RBI. Guidry has put the ball in play regularly and has only struck out four times in 36 at-bats this season.

Joshua Cerejo made his return to the mound after missing the last five weeks. Cerejo pitched an inning in the Saturday game against A&M-Corpus Christi.
-New Orleans has beaten LSU twice in seven games under Coach Dean. Both wins came back in 2017.
ABOUT THE OPPONENT
LSU is coming off a sweep against Missouri. The Tigers persevered in all three games as the combined margin of victory was just five runs.
In 13 games away from their home field, the Tigers are 6-7.
LSU is hitting .294 as a team while opponents are hitting just .224. Jacob Berry is hitting at a .370 clip with seven doubles, 13 homers and 40 RBI. Brayden Jobert (12) and Dylan Crews (10) are also in double digits in home runs.
On the mound, Eric Reyzelman has appeared in 19 games and he has struck out nearly 43 percent of the batters he has faced. Riley Cooper leads the team in appearances with 20.
