NEW ORLEANS – The New Orleans Privateers will battle for the Pelican Cup in a winner-take-all contest against the Tulane Green Wave on Tuesday evening at Greer Field at Turchin Stadium. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.

Pearce Howard became the Privateers' all-time hits leader when he collected three hits on Sunday against Nicholls. Howard now stands at 270 hits in his career.

Anthony Herron Jr. has now assumed the lead by himself in the nation in sacrifice flies. Herron added his ninth sac fly of the season over the weekend against Nicholls.
-This is the first time the Pelican Cup will come down to the third game since it was reinstated in 2018.
-New Orleans used just two pitchers in their last midweek game against LSU. It was the first time New Orleans used fewer than three pitchers in a midweek under Coach
Blake Dean.

Beau Blanchard won the seventh Southland weekly award by a Privateer student-athlete when he earned Pitcher of the Week honors on Monday.

Kasten Furr is on a nine-game hitting streak entering the week. Furr is hitting .389 during that span and he reached base in his first plate appearance in all three game of the series at Nicholls.

Jack Williams recorded his first save as a Privateer on Sunday after he threw four scoreless innings to close the series finale. Williams has thrown first pitch strikes in 67 percent of his batters faced.
ABOUT THE OPPONENT
Tulane absorbed a series loss when they were defeated in two-of-three at Central Florida over the weekend. All three games were decided by one or two runs.
Ethan Groff is still holding north of .400 in the batting average department. Groff is hitting .404 with 15 doubles, nine homers and 35 RBI. As a team, the Green Wave are hitting .273. Opponents are hitting .267 against Tulane pitching.
The Pelican Cup has stayed on the Lakefront since 2018. The last time Tulane held the Pelican Cup was in the penultimate year of its original run in 1991.
