NEW ORLEANS –
DeArica Pryor earned Southland Player of the Week for her performance in the New Orleans Privateers' last two non-conference games before the holiday break, which were both victories.
Pryor averaged 19.0 points and 5.5 rebounds per game as the Privateers finished their non-conference schedule with a flourish. They scored wins over Tarleton State in front of the second-largest home crowd in program history and followed with their first road win of the year at Alcorn State.
Against Tarleton State, Pryor led all scorers. She poured in 16 points and pulled down a season-high seven rebounds. She also added two steals and went 4-of-5 from three-point range.
Two days later, Pryor finished with 22 points as the Privateers started fast and never relented in a 24-point win against Alcorn State. Again, Pryor was efficient from long range as she went 5-of-6 on her three-point attempts.
It was the 14
th game of 20 or more points Pryor has accrued since transferring to New Orleans from Creighton in 2021.
Heading into conference play, Pryor is at 927 career points. 824 of those points have come at New Orleans.
Pryor has now earned four Southland Player of the Week awards (one in 2021-22 and two in 2022-23).
