NEW ORLEANS – Senior
Maximilian Wojciechowski's 2-under-par round bumped the University of New Orleans golf team up two spots – good for an eighth place finish – at the Bubba Barnett Intercollegiate on Tuesday afternoon.
Max (who started on hole 10) was as steady as you can be over his first 13 holes on Tuesday afternoon making par 13 times before converting a birdie putt and an eagle on holes No. 5 and 6. The sixth eagle of the senior's collegiate career came at the same location as the fifth after he eagled on the same hole during round two. Wojciechowski birdied to finish his day with a score of 70, and his tournament with a score of 215 – one stroke off his personal best.
Tom Watson shot his second consecutive round at par to finish tied for 34
th with a score of 217. Watson started Tuesday morning off with a birdie on his first hole, and closed Tuesday afternoon off with a birdie on his final hole. He also had a stretch of seven straight pars converted during the third round. Tom finished the Bubba Barnett Intercollegiate with eight birdies, and an eagle.
Matt Weber shot even par on Tuesday to finish with a score of 219. He led UNO over three rounds with 13 birdie putts made, and played well on the par-5's going 7-under-par on the longer holes. Weber finished the Bubba Barrnett strong with four birdies and a par over his final six holes.
Wojciechowski, Weber, and
Britton Khalaf all improved each round they were on the course over Monday and Tuesday. Wojciechowski was four strokes better in round three than round one. Khalaf was three strokes better while Weber improved by two strokes. Watson was consistent as well with rounds of 73, 72 and 72.
The Privateers finished with 163 combined pars, 40 birdies, and co-led the field with three eagles.
New Orleans returns to the course on Oct. 21-22 when they make the short trip to Mathews, La. for the LaTOUR Intercollegiate. Coverage information will be made available closer to the tournament.

"Thought we had a solid round today. We didn't quite finish it off the way we would have liked but we played well and moved up the leaderboard. We were able to beat some teams that had gotten us earlier in the year and get back over .500 in the conference."
