TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The New Orleans Privateers will play against an undefeated opponent when they begin a three-game series against the 11-0 Florida State Seminoles on Friday at Mike Martin Field at Dick Howser Stadium. First pitch for the series opener is scheduled for 4 p.m. CST. All games will be carried on 106.1 FM The Ticket and ACCNX.

The Privateers defeated South Alabama 7-5 in their midweek contest on Wednesday. It was the fifth time New Orleans has topped the Jaguars in
Blake Dean's tenure. Four of those wins have come in Mobile.
Kyrin Tyson-Long has three saves on the season and had his first save of more than three outs against South Alabama. In his first four appearances, Long has allowed two hits and no runs while registering five strikeouts.
Issac Williams hit two doubles against South Alabama, bringing his career total to 30. He becomes the second active Privateer with at least 30 career doubles, joining
Miguel Useche who has 33 coming into the weekend.
In his ninth season at the helm, Crestview, Florida native
Blake Dean will be playing against a school in the state of Florida for the first time. Dean has 13 wins over Power Five schools including Texas, LSU (3 times), Oklahoma (twice) and Pittsburgh (3 times).
The Privateers and Seminoles have played three times in program history. This will be the first meeting since the 1991 Busch Classic, a game the Privateers won in a shutout 6-0. New Orleans and Florida State first played in an NCAA Regional in 1980. New Orleans is 2-1 against Florida State.
ABOUT THE OPPONENT
Florida State is 11-0 on the season after a 23-31 year in 2023. Link Jarrett is in his second season at the helm of the Seminoles. Florida State has outscored their opponents this season by a combined score of 132-41.
Saturday starter, Jamie Arnold has not allowed an earned run in 17 innings. At the plate, Cam Smith as 25 hits in his first 50 at-bats of the season. James Tibbs III leads the team with six home runs and paces the team in RBI with 21.
