ROTATION
FRIDAY: UNO-LHP
Colton Mercer vs. SLU-RHP Brennan Stuprich
SATURDAY: UNO-RHP
Grant Edwards vs. SLU-RHP Dakota Lee
SUNDAY: UNO-RHP

The Privateers were ahead for most of the game on Tuesday night against Southern Miss but fell victim to a late Golden Eagles rally in a 5-4 loss.
Alexander Saunier reached base four times (two hits, two walks) while
Ryan Delorbe,
Caleb Seroski and
Jack Williams combined for just one unearned run allowed in the first six innings.
With three weeks to go, the Privateers are sitting in third in the Southland standings. They are three games behind Lamar whom they still have to play in the last weekend. New Orleans is one game behind second place Nicholls heading into the last three weeks. The Privateers swept the Colonels in the opening conference weekend.
The Privateers and Southeastern contest the Pontchartrain Bowl with each regular season series. It was founded in 2015 by former members of the Sigma Tau Gamma fraternity. Southeastern has won the trophy five times while the Privateers have taken it three times (2016, 2021, 2023).
As a team, New Orleans has punished the ball when putting a first pitch of an at-bat in play. As a team, all hitters with at least 25 games played collectively have a .410 batting average on the first pitch of a count (73-178).
Saunier reached base at least four times in a game for the third time this season. He carries a .296 batting average and a .417 on-base percentage into the weekend. Saunier leads the team in hit by pitches with 11.
ABOUT THE OPPONENT
Southeastern is looking to dig their way out of the bottom of the standings. The Lions lost two of three to McNeese last weekend and are now in ninth heading into the weekend, which would make them the odd team out of the conference tournament. The Lions lost 13-6 to Tulane on Tuesday.
Brennan Stuprich has anchored the Lions' rotation as he enters the weekend with a 3.12 ERA. He has gone at least six innings in seven of his 10 starts this season. Offensively, TJ Salvaggio leads the Lions with a .314 batting average, 10 home runs and 33 RBI.

And much like a Mardi Gras parade krewe, we are tethered to our community through pride, tradition, a culture of acceptance, and finally our commitment to show that New Orleans is a world-class city to live, learn, play and work. We invite you to become more involved with the only University that truly represents New Orleans all day, every day. Join #NOLAsTeam, We Are Your Krewe!
