NEW ORLEANS – The New Orleans Privateers will close the 2024 Pelican Cup when they take on the Tulane Green Wave on Tuesday night at Maestri Field. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. and the game will be carried on ESPN Plus.
The Green Wave have already clinched the Pelican Cup after winning the first two games and will be presented with the trophy upon conclusion of the contest.

Both entrances (Press Drive and Franklin Avenue) will be open for access to parking, which costs five dollars.
The Privateers won the series finale at Southeastern 7-5 and successfully defended the Pontchartrain Bowl. It was the fourth time New Orleans has won the trophy and the first time they won it in consecutive years. This series also marked the first in the nine-year Pontchartrain Bowl history where both teams split the first two games.
Maika Niu is the Privateers' leader in batting average during conference only games. Niu is hitting .429 while playing in 13 of the 18 games. Niu also has 12 RBI in those 13 contests. Against Southeastern, Niu drove in seven runs.
Five regular starters have an on-base percentage of .400 or better for the Privateers. As a team, New Orleans is second in the SLC with a .406 OBP and first in walks drawn with 257. Their walk total ranks 28
th in the nation.
As a team, New Orleans also leads the league and is eighth in the country in triples. Niu had a triple over the weekend to give the Privateers 19 for the season. The national leader is Wofford who has 28 triples entering the week. Individually,
Mitchell Sanford leads the team in triples with four. Niu,
Issac Williams and
Victor Castillo each have three.
Ryan Delorbe had multiple appearances in a weekend series for the first time this season. He picked up a win and a save against Southeastern. The save was his first in a Privateer uniform. Last week, Delorbe allowed just one run on three hits over 6.2 innings of work in three appearances.
ABOUT THE OPPONENT
Tulane is looking to sweep the season series against New Orleans for the first time since the Pelican Cup was reinstituted in 2018. Tulane has outscored the Privateers 13-7 over the first two contests.
Brady Marget is one of four regular starters hitting over .300. Marget leads the team with a .342 batting average and has a team-best 44 RBI. Teo Banks leads he way in home runs with 12 on the season. As a pitching staff, Tulane is 81
st in the nation in strikeout-to-walk ratio heading into the week.
