SCHEDULE
NEW ORLEANS – The New Orleans Privateers women's basketball team has released their schedule ahead of the upcoming 2024-25 season. The regular season starts on Nov. 4 and includes nine non-conference games and a 20-game Southland slate.
The season starts on the road against an NCAA Tournament opponent from last year when the Privateers head to Tuscaloosa to face Alabama. The Crimson Tide were an 8-seed last March and advanced to the Round of 32.
From there, the Privateers will travel to the Lone Star State for games at TCU (Nov. 10) and at Tarleton State (Nov. 12).
The lone regular season non-conference home game is the Privateers' annual Education Day game. This year, New Orleans will host a familiar foe in South Alabama on Nov. 19.
Trips to Texas Tech, Louisiana and Baylor follow. After the first Southland game, the Privateers have two more non-conference road game at UAB (Dec. 18) and at Jacksonville State (Dec. 20).
Conference starts earlier with two teams added to the fold in Stephen F. Austin and UTRGV. The Southland opener for the Privateers will be on Dec. 14 at McNeese. After eight days, the Privateers will head to Nicholls for their second conference game on Dec. 22.
Once the calendar flips to January, the Privateers will have six of their next nine games at home. It begins the day after New Year's when New Orleans hosts Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. New Orleans will also host UTRGV and Southeastern. The three road games in the month are at Lamar (Jan. 9), Northwestern State (Jan. 16) and Texas A&M-Commerce (Jan. 18).
New Orleans returns to the Lakefront for a three-game home stretch that sees them face UIW, HCU and Stephen F. Austin to close out January.
February opens with three straight games on the road. New Orleans will head to Southeastern (Feb. 1), UIW (Feb. 6) and HCU (Feb. 8). The Privateers will close their home slate with four consecutive games at the Lakefront Arena between Feb. 13 and Feb. 22.
In that stretch the Privateers will host Nicholls, McNeese and Texas A&M-Commerce before closing out the home schedule against Northwestern State on Feb. 22.
A two-game road swing in South Texas closes the regular season. The Privateers will play at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Feb. 27 and close the season with new Southland member, UTRGV on Mar. 1.
The tournament will start on Mar. 10 in Lake Charles. The Southland championship game will be on Mar. 13.
