NEW ORLEANS – The New Orleans Privateers will play week four of their Southland schedule at home when they take on the Northwestern State Demons. The series starts on Friday with a first pitch at 6:30 p.m.

All games will be on ESPN+ and the Friday game will be carried on 106.7 FM The Ticket.

New Orleans (11-8) is coming off a midweek loss at #2 LSU. Bryan Loriga and Alexander Saunier each had two hits against the Tigers who moved their regular season record to 21-1.

With seven weeks remaining, the Privateers are currently in a tie for fifth in the Southland standings with the Demons.

Four Privateers have on-base streaks of at least 10 games and two of those are active. Bryce Calloway had a streak of reaching base in 13 straight games. Bryan Loriga (11) and Matt Gonzalez (10) are on active streaks. Collin Loupe had an 11-game streak earlier this season.

The Privateers are 4-1 in 1-run games this season and have won their lone extra inning game this season. They are 7-0 when leading after seven innings in 2025.

Skylar Jones made his first start in a Privateer uniform last weekend at UIW and picked up a win to move to 3-0. Jones struck out 8 batters in 5.0 innings. Prior to New Orleans, Jones started 10 games at Snead State in 2022.

ABOUT THE OPPONENT
Northwestern State (12-8) is also sitting at 5-4 through three weeks of conference play. The Demons won their midweek game 12-9 at Grambling on Tuesday night. They stole five bases in the victory.

The Demons have 44 stolen bases as a team through 20 games and two players are tied at the top of the Southland in that category: Rocco Gump and Balin Valentine each have 11 steals. Also, Trent Hillen is the reigning Southland Pitcher of the Week after he threw a complete game four-hit shutout at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi last weekend.
