HAMMOND, La. – The New Orleans Privateers will begin their journey on Thursday when they open the Southland Tournament against the 1-seed Southeastern Lions at Pat Kenelly Daimond at Alumni Field.
First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m.

The Privateers are at 96 doubles through the regular season. Excluding 2020, New Orleans has hit at least 95 doubles in every season dating back to 2017. In five years during that same stretch, the Privateers hit the century mark in doubles. The single season high for doubles is 151 in 1985.
Bryce Calloway has a .676 slugging percentage entering the Southland Tournament. Currently, that would tie for the fifth best single season mark in program history with Johnny Giavotella (2007), Augie Schmidt (1982) and Brian Traxler (1987). Calloway has 10 doubles and 14 home runs on the season.
Grant Edwards has 91 strikeouts this season, second most in the Southland. It's currently the highest total by a Privateer pitcher since Chris Turpin in 2021 who had 97. The last Privateer to reach at least 100 strikeouts in a season was Bryan Warzek who had 127 in 2018.

ABOUT THE OPPONENT
Southeastern has an RPI in the top 50 after they finished 37-14 on the season with a 22-8 conference record and a share of the Southland regular season title. The Lions went 2-1 against the Privateers in the regular season.
Brennan Stuprich was the Southland Pitcher of the Year. He finished the regular season with 105 strikeouts in 85 innings and had a 9-4 record. The Lions led the Southland in home runs this year with 81.
