NEW ORLEANS –
Bryce Calloway earned John Olerud Two-Way Player of the Week honors after a phenomenal showing in the Hammond bracket, which helped guide the New Orleans Privateers to the Southland championship series.
Calloway flexed his muscle on the mound and at the plate as he has done all year. The senior mashed four home runs while going 7-for-12 at the plate. He also had seven RBI and six runs scored.
He also picked up a save in all three games, which added to the season total. Calloway re-took the lead in the Southland in saves with 11 and is currently in ninth in the country in saves entering this week's series.
All weekly honors were from the College Baseball Foundation. Each week the CBF recognizes weekly award winners in conjunction with the Brooks Wallace Award, John Olerud Two-Way Player of the Year Award and the National Pitcher of the Year Award.
The John Olerud Two-Way Player of the Year Award is presented annually by the College Baseball Foundation to honor the nation's top combo pitcher-position player. Olerud, who was inducted into the National College Baseball Hall of Fame in 2007, was a standout pitcher and first baseman at Washington State University from 1987 through 1989.
