Privateers Begin Five-Game Week With First Contest of Pelican Cup Against Tulane

NEW ORLEANS – The New Orleans Privateers baseball team will begin a five-game week with the opening contest for the 2026 Pelican Cup against the Tulane Green Wave at Maestri Field on Tuesday. A mid-week home game against Southern follows on Wednesday with both games scheduled for a 6:30 pm first pitch.

The Privateers went 1-2 over the weekend with their win coming against Northern Kentucky. New Orleans won 10-3 against the Norse and hit three home runs. Luke Lycette picked up the Privateers' first save of the season.

Dylan Biddick had another strong week at the plate for the Privateers. He went 9-for-18 and had a five-RBI night against Northern Kentucky. Biddick has 14 hits in the first six games and eight RBI.

Eli Tidwell also had nine hits during the Maestri Classic. Tidwell played both third base and center field this past weekend. He also scored five runs and hit his first homer as a Privateer against Northern Kentucky.

Through the first two weekends, the Privateers are tied for third in home runs hit with 10. Only UIW (17) and UTRGV (11) have more heading into the week. Kruise Newman has three home runs, which is tied for second in the conference.

New Orleans has played nearly a full MLB season's worth of games against Tulane in the program's history. Tulane has a 90-70 advantage in 160 career meetings heading into Tuesday. The Privateers defeated Southern 14-5 last Wednesday and have won eight straight games in the all-time series.
