Privateers Travel to Tulane, ULM in Midweek

NEW ORLEANS – The New Orleans Privateers will start a double midweek with a road game at Tulane on Tuesday night before traveling to Monroe to face ULM on Wednesday. The Privateers' Tuesday contest will be broadcast on 106.7 FM The Ticket.

The Privateers picked off the last game of the series for the third consecutive week when they defeated UIW 11-7 in the series finale on Sunday. New Orleans scored eight runs in the first three innings and had three homers against Cardinals pitching.

The Privateer pitching staff recorded the most strikeouts in a game this season when they fanned 14 batters against UIW. Jack Garvey had seven of those strikeouts in just three innings of work out of the pen. This year, New Orleans has reached double digits in strikeouts as a staff four times.

Four players have recorded at least 40 total bases this season. Owen Smith (44), Dylan Biddick (42), Eli Tidwell (41) and Kruise Newman (40) have all reached that threshold heading into the week.

Miles Curley made his return over the weekend against UIW after missing the prior two weeks due to a knee injury. Curley went 4-for-13 in his return at the plate and hit his first home run of the season on Sunday against the Cardinals.

The Privateers already have a win over Tulane after they defeated the Green Wave 11-3 on Feb. 24 at Maestri Field. The win was the Privateers' ninth in their last 12 meetings against Tulane at their home ballpark. The margin of victory was the largest since they won a 16-4 decision in 2023.

ABOUT THE OPPONENTS
Tulane (9-11) has lost five straight entering Tuesday. They were swept over the weekend against Creighton. The Green Wave rank 19th in the country in doubles with 47 total heading into the week. Tanner Chun ranks 32nd in the nation in walks drawn with 19.

ULM (12-9) defeated the Privateers in the Maestri Classic 9-1 earlier this season. The Warhawks swept their first conference series when they defeated Texas State in all three games over the weekend. The Warhawks are in the top ten nationally in total hits with 233.
