PENSACOLA, Fla. - Conference play begins for the University of New Orleans baseball team this weekend as they hit the road for a three-game series against defending NCAA Division II College World Series champion West Florida.

The teams will play a doubleheader on Saturday at 1 p.m. with a single game on Sunday at 1 p.m.

Live audio and statistics are available through the GoArgos.com web site.

UNO (6-3) saw its five-game win streak come to a halt on Tuesday night in a 15-6 loss to Spring Hill. Beau Boudreaux picked up hits in both official at-bats in the contest and leads the Privateers with a .500 batting average while also leading the team with a pair of home runs.

Boudreaux's ability to get on base with a .621 on-base percentage has set the table nicely for Clint Coleman. Coleman is second on the team in batting average at .387 while pacing the squad in runs (13) and RBI (11).

This weekend's anticipated starters based off the previous weekend series are Christian Cale (3-0, 1.06 ERA), Stone Speer (1-1, 3.27) and Jake Fabre (2-1, 4.50). Each member of the trio has at least 10 strikeouts on the season while Fabre is the reigning Louisiana Sports Writers Association 'Pitcher of the Week'.

The Privateers carry an unblemished 4-0 road record into this weekend's Gulf South Conference (GSC) series and face a significant challenge to improve on the success against a No. 2 ranked UWF (12-2) squad that is a perfect 6-0 at home.

Picked to win the GSC this season after last year's national championship, the Argos are led by Billy O'Connor and Taye Larry. O'Connor is hitting .364 on the season with seven runs with Larry leading UWF in runs (16), doubles (five) and RBIs (12).

The Argos' likely starting pitchers this weekend include Jake Stephens (3-0, 1.29 ERA) and Josh Tanaski (1-1, 2.14). Four other pitchers have made at least one start this season for UWF head coach Mike Jeffcoat.

Following the series against the Argos, the Privateers will continue their season with four straight at home beginning with a three-game GSC set against Valdosta State on Mar. 10.
