FLORENCE, Ala. -  The University of New Orleans baseball team will make its final weekend road trip of the year as they visit No. 19 North Alabama for a three-game series beginning Saturday.

The teams will play a doubleheader at 2 p.m. on Saturday before turning around for a single game on Sunday at 1 p.m. Live stats of all three contests will be available at RoarLions.com.

UNO (14-23) is presently 2-4 on its current 10-game stretch away from Maestri Field. The Privateers' most recent losses came to McNeese State on Tuesday and Southern on Wednesday.

Stefan Farrell has continued to hit the ball well as of the last three games with four hits in his last 10 at-bats. The catcher, who also has seen time at the designated hitter spot, has produced six RBIs during the same period.

Last weekend against nationally-ranked Delta State, Farrell was behind the plate for a pair of quality starts from Stone Speer (3-4, 4.21 ERA) and Jake Fabre (4-6, 4.59).

Speer allowed two runs – one earned – on six hits over eight innings against the Statesmen in a 3-2 loss. The defeat was the first for the Privateers when holding a foe under three runs in a contest this season.

A day later, Fabre threw a complete game shutout against DSU, scattering five hits and striking out two. Fabre's performance enabled UNO to post a 7-0 victory against the Statesmen.

Cory Myers (1-3, 6.31) is the likely third pitcher in Privateer head coach Bruce Peddie's rotation.

The trio of starting pitchers will have a tough task going against a UNA (31-12) squad that is hitting .294 on the season.  The Lions are averaging 6.5 runs a game and feature a roster with nine different players whom have scored at least 22 runs

Michael Schmidt tops the club with a .400 batting average with seven home runs, 16 doubles and 45 runs scored. Schmidt is the reigning Gulf South Conference Player of the Week after hitting .556 on 10-for-18 hitting as UNA went 4-0 last week.

Chad Boughner (8-2, 2.68 ERA), Johnny Hornbuckle (6-5, 4.16) and Michael Watkins (5-1, 4.44) comprise the weekend rotation. Ben Seabrook comes out of the bullpen with 11 saves and a 1.80 ERA.

Following the weekend, UNO will visit Southern on Tuesday before hosting Tougaloo in a three-game series that begins Friday, Apr. 27 at 6:30 p.m.
