BOX SCORENEW ORLEANS, La. –The New Orleans Privateers women's tennis team (9-6, 2-3 Southland) had a strong finish from the #2 doubles tandem to win a hard fought doubles point on the way to a 6-1 victory over the Bradley Braves (9-7, 0-0 MVC) on Wednesday afternoon at the University Tennis Center.

In doubles, the Privateers and Braves split matches by 8-1 scores at #1 and #3 doubles, putting the opening point in the middle court.
Anna Segarra Rius and
Anja Luethi rebounded from an early 3-1 deficit to win the next three games and take a 4-3 advantage.

After each team held their next two serves, Segarra and Luethi came up with a service break. Serving for the match, the Privateers #2 tandem wound up holding to end the match 8-5 and give the Privateers the opening point.

In singles,
Hafsa Laraibi again set the tone for the Privateers with a 6-1, 6-0 victory. Laraibi now moves to 10-3 on the year and eight of her singles victories have been accomplished while dropping four games or fewer.

Soledad Calderon Arroyo had an early break in the first set, which sparked a 6-3 opening set in her favor. Calderon controlled the action in the second set as well, winning at 6-2 over Bradley's Alexa Brandt. The match clinching point came from Segarra who won her match 6-1, 6-2 to notch her 11
th singles victory of the season.

With the match already decided, the rest of the singles bouts played out in full. Luethi finished with a 6-3, 6-3 victory.
Marta Sans broke the serve of Aimee Manfredo to finish off a straight set victory of her own.

The Privateers next travel to Hattiesburg to take on Southern Miss on Sunday. The match is scheduled for a 1 p.m. start.
