The Privateers improved to .500 after victories over Ball State and ACC's Virginia Tech. The first highlighted the offense with the win over the Power Five Hokies showcasing the UNO arms. 
Owen Magee hit .388 during the five-game week with two long balls and five RBI and is now hitting a team high .414 on the season. Following Magee's lead, 
Darren Willis (.357) and 
Beau Bratton (.320) are second and third, respectively.

Blake Dean will call on senior left handed pitcher 
John Michael Stephens. Stephens has tossed 4.1 innings on the year with a 2.08 ERA and five strikeouts.
 
ABOUT SOUTHERN MISS
The Golden Eagles are coming a 2-1 weekend after beating Tennessee-Martin 16-2 and 13-4.
 
Southern Miss is scary good at the plate with 10 players on its roster hitting over .300. The Golden Eagles are led by redshirt freshmen Gabe Montenegro, who is hitting .500 on the season with two doubles, one triple, six ribbies, and eight runs scored.
 
The Golden Eagles will send righty Walker Powell to the mound against the Privateers. Powell on the season has a 0.00 ERA with 3.00 innings with four strike outs on in season.
 
USM is ranked No. 15 in the NCBWA and Baseball America polls and No. 16 in the D1Baseball.com poll.
