Baseball Looks for Fifth Consecutive Win in Game Two of Pelican Cup

NEW ORLEANS – The University of New Orleans (13-15) looks to clinch the Pelican Cup Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. as the Privateers head to Turchin Field to battle Tulane University (12-17). New Orleans defeated the Green Wave in walk-off fashion 8-7 in the first of three meetings last month.

A game that featured two UNO home runs - Jay Robinson's grand slam and Owen Magee's third long ball of the season – Robinson's RBI triple/wild pitch that tied the game in the bottom of the eighth and the wild pitch allowing Magee to cross the plate and give New Orleans the 8-7 victory.

The Privateers are coming of a 4-0 week with wins over #RV South Alabama and a three-game sweep over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. Left-hander Bryan Warzek was named Southland Conference, College Sports Madness Southland Player and Louisiana Sportswriters Association (co) Pitcher of the Week Monday. UNO has four players hitting over the .300 mark; Magee (.339), Beau Bratton (.333), Darren Willis (.330) and Orynn Veillon (.300).
 
Magee (40) and Willis (37) are ranked third and seventh, respectively, in the Southland in the hits category. Ducote is No. 3 in runs batted in with 26.
 
ABOUT TULANE
Tulane is led by Grant Witherspoon's .311 clip with four homers, a triple, 10 doubles, 22 RBI and 18 runs scored.
