NEW ORLEANS – Kasten Furr,
Tyler LeBlanc and
Collin Kulivan were named All-Academic honorees by the Southland Conference office this afternoon.
Sophomore southpaw LeBlanc earned First-Team status after finishing last semester with a 3.54 GPA in Finance, while upperclassmen Furr and Kulivan were named to the Second-Team after finishing last semester with a 3.19 GPA in Finance, and a 3.83 GPA in Finance (MBA) respectively.
Furr earned Third-Team All-Southland honors after finishing the season hitting .325 with 26 RBI and a pair of 10-game hitting sreaks. LeBlanc also earned Third-Team All-Southland honors after serving as the Friday night starter for most of the season, compiling a 7-1 record, finishing third in the league in strikeouts with 69, and sixth in opponent batting average (.241). Kulivan appeared in 12 games this season with 11.2 innings pitched and four strikeouts.
The trio become the tenth, eleventh and twelfth Southland All-Academic selections in New Orleans baseball history, and this season marks the first time three Privateers were chosen since 2015. It was the first All-Academic selection for all three student-athletes.
Payton Harden from McNeese was named the 2022 Southland Conference Baseball student-athlete of the year.
