NEW ORLEANS – The University of New Orleans golf team returns to a familiar course – Comanche Trace in Kerrville, Texas – for the 2025 edition of the Southland Conference Championship on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

The Privateers have had success at the Southland Championship in recent years with a pair of third-place finishes (2022, 2024) sandwiching a runner-up finish in 2023. Last season, New Orleans finished in third place with a score of 875 – their second-lowest score at a Southland Championship since joining the league prior to the 2013-14 season. Including previous Sun Belt Championships, last season's tally was the second-lowest conference championship score by UNO since 2008. The Privateers shot 872 two seasons ago at the Southland Championship.

New Orleans finished the regular season with a 43-64-1 (.406) record in 26 rounds of stroke play this season with a stroke average of 296.92. Against Southland Conference foes, the Privateers went 15-14 (.517) in stroke play — their fourth straight season above .500 against Southland competition and fifth in the last six seasons.

Individually, Taylor Boasberg led the Privateers with a 73.6 average in 18 competitive rounds. All 10 Privateers saw at least seven rounds of competitive golf this season, with Matt Weber being the only ever-present Privateer in the lineup.

Weber retains his No. 1 position from last year's Southland Championship and is the only Privateer in this year's lineup to have taken part in last season's third-place finish. He finished tied for 10th with a score of 220.
