Privateer Trio Sits Inside the Top-20 After the Opening Round of the Southland Championship

NEW ORLEANS – Tom Watson, Garrett Trahan and Maximilian Wojciechowski all finished sit inside the top-20 after the opening round of the 2025 Southland Championship on Monday afternoon at Comanche Trace.

Watson got his Monday off to an outstanding start, shooting 2-under par on the front nine. Tom birdied holes two, three, nine and 14 on his way to an opening round score of 74. He is tied for 14^th with Nicholls' Jack Moro, Francis Marion's Ryan Bozard, Stephen F. Austin's Eyan Edsall, East Texas A&M's Nicke Kaajavirta, and Augusta's Stefan Jacobs headed into round two.

Freshman Garrett Trahan and senior Maximilian Wojciechowski are tied for 20th after opening round scores of 75. Both shot even par on their front nines. Trahan made four birdies on Monday, and Wojciechowski made three.

Taylor Boasberg shot an 81 to round out the scoring for the Privateers, and Matt Weber shot an 85.

The Privateers are currently tied for ninth with Southeastern after an opening round score of 305. New Orleans is two strokes behind Stephen F. Austin, and seven strokes behind UIW, HCU and Lamar who are tied for fifth place.

Defending champion Augusta leads East Texas A&M by five strokes after finishing at 285. Bo Blanchard (Augusta) leads the individual scoring at 66, two shy of the Southland Championship record low round.

Round two gets underway tomorrow at 11:00 a.m. with Weber set to tee off first for New Orleans. Live scoring will be available here, with updates throughout the day available @PrivateersGolf on X.
