NEW ORLEANS –  After a solid start at last week's Grover Page Classic, the University of New Orleans will look to build on early success when it makes the trip to Miramar Beach, Fla., for the Sandestin Classic this week.

Garrett Trahan's third-round score of 66 during this season's opening tournament is tied for the sixth-lowest single-round score in program history. He became the seventh individual golfer to have a round of 66 during the Jeff Lorio era.

Joining Trahan with rounds in the 60s last week were teammates Matthew Lotz, Max Feistmantl and Tom Watson. The Privateers' 54-hole score of 850 is the fourth-lowest total by New Orleans, and UNO's first-round score of 277 is tied for the fifth-best single-round score in program history, joining the third round of the 2021 Golfweek Fall Challenge.

When competition begins Monday morning, it will be the first time the program has ever played in the Sandestin Collegiate or at the Raven Golf Club.
