The Golden Eagles' winning run came against UNO (5-27) pitcher Raymond Winter (2-2). Winter allowed the run on three hits during 2.2 innings of relief work.

In the eighth inning, USM knotted the score as shortstop Travis Creel walked and advanced to second on a wild pitch. Creel moved to third on a ground ball before scoring on a wild pitch against Privateer relief pitcher Stone Speer.

Morgan Barger also went 2-for-4 in the contest for UNO, which totaled seven hits as a team.

USM relief pitcher Nick Johnson (1-0) took the victory after scattering two hits over four innings. Johnson struck out four in relief of A.J. Glasshof, who allowed five hits over six innings with six strikeouts.
